This English language workshop takes place in Guillaume and Julie’s home, in an old XVIII th century farmhouse that they have opened to makers that want to share their craft. You will be guided by a professional baker who has adapted her know-how to work in a home kitchen. She will share all the secrets of French bakery, from baguettes to pretty round breads, brioche and maybe even some breakfast pastries…
Much more than a recipe, you will get to watch but also practice the gestures to knead, shape and bake your own homemade breads.
You will leave with armfuls of baguettes, breads and brioches made during the workshop but also with a recipe booklet and all the tricks to redo them at home, as good as in Paris!
8.30 am – Introductions!
Meet and greet around a coffee and some treats.
9 am – Aprons on!
Quick, bread needs time to rise so the kneading starts right away! Only four ingredients – flour, salt, yeast and water – but a lot of know how.
9.30 am – What about brioche?
We follow up by mixing the brioche dough, before going back for a second turn of the bread dough.
10.15 am – Shaping
Baguettes or round breads? Seeds or no seeds? And what about the brioches? Will they be round, braided, with cinnamon or plain?
11 am – Question time!
While the breads and brioches finish rising, ask our baker all your questions!
1 pm – Lunch time
Let’s eat our homemade pizzas or focaccias !
2 pm – Last round in the oven!
The sacred baking time. This amazing moment where the fragrance of warm bread permeates the whole kitchen.
3 pm – End of the workshop
Bread and brioche won’t hold any secrets for you anymore. You leave with your creations of the day still warm, and a head full of sweet souvenirs…
